Dunsin Oyekan Biography and Early Life

Dunsin Oyekan was born on November 5, 1984, in Ilorin, Nigeria, to the family of Gbadebo Oyekan, the General Overseer of the Evangelical Baptist Church. He was the only son of his parents and grew up in a Christian home. He developed a passion for music and songwriting from a young age, influenced by his father who also loved music and led a music group called “Spiritual Singers”.

He started playing the guitar at age 10, encouraged by his father who taught him the basics. He also learned to play other musical instruments such as the keyboard and the drums. He had been singing and playing in choirs and bands for over two decades, serving as a music director and a backup vocalist for many notable gospel singers. He was the music director of the Crystal Award-winning choir, The Avalanche of COZA (Commonwealth of Zion Assembly), for many years.
