Born on the 7th of November, 1968, Hon. Samuel Ode is a Nigerian lawyer, politician, and indigenous farmer. He was born at the NKST Christian Hospital in Mkar, near Gboko, in Benue State, and is the tenth child in a family of 15.
His father, Christopher Ikwue Ode was a veteran of the Nigerian Army while his paternal grandfather, Pa Ode Acha, was also a veteran soldier of World War II.

Dr. Ode\’s mother, Helen Mzamber was a nurse by profession and the first child of the late Rt. Hon. Edward Kundu Swem. Rev. Kundu was the foremost Benue-born politician and a three-term member of the Federal House of Representatives in the First and Second Republics.
Sam Ode started his elementary school at the NKST Primary School, Gboko, in 1974 and graduated in 1980. He proceeded to the Wesley High School, Otukpo where he got General Certificate of Education (GCE) in 1985.
He studied law at the Benue Polytechnic in Ugbokolo and bagged a bachelor of Arts degree in Theatre Arts and Communications from the University of Jos.
As a politician, Sam Ode has served in various capacities from being a Special Advisor to the Governor to Minister and currently a Deputy Governor.
