The GTBank Salary Advance Loan is a scheme that was put in place by the Guarantee Trust Bank.

You can borrow up to 50% of your salary from the bank to spend in advance, and pay when you earn.
One of the major criteria for accessing the loan is that your salary account has to be domiciled in GTBank, and you can be either a government or private employee.

The interest is pegged at 1.33% monthly, there is no collateral required and you can get the salary advance 24 hours after applying.

To access the loan, however, you have to be earning a minimum of ₦50,000 monthly as a private employee or ₦25,000 per month as a government employee.

How To Apply For The GTB Salary Advance Loan

There are two ways to apply for the GT Bank salary advance loan:

The Mobile App

– Log in to the mobile app with your correct details.
– Click on Quick Loan.
– Choose Salary Advance.


– Dial *737*8*2#
– Follow the instructions and complete your application.

Visit any GTB branch

You can visit any GT Bank branch near you to request a loan or contact customer care for further guidance.

The minimum loan request is ₦10,000 and the maximum is ₦5 million.
Non-salary earners can apply for the GTBank Quick Credit, the shortcode is *737*51*51#.

How To Check GTB Salary Advance Balance

To check your loan balance, you can use:


– Dial *737#
– Press 10
– Enter four and dial, then follow instructions.

Mobile App

– Log in to the mobile app with your username and password.
– Click on Quick Loan.
– Choose Salary Advance.

Proceed to check your balance.

How To Pay Back GTB Salary Advance Loan

You can repay your loan with your mobile app, internet banking or even USSD.
Since you access the loan with your salary account, it will normally be automatically deducted when the time is due and the salary is received.


– Dial *737*0#
– Select option 4
– Select option 2

Enter your pin to authenticate the transaction and the loan will be paid back.

Mobile banking

– Log in with your details
– Click quick loan
– Select salary advance
– Select repay the loan

Enter your pin to authenticate the transaction.


The Guaranty Trust Bank Salary Advance Loan is only available to salary earners, whether in the private or public sector.
