Ankita Lokhande was born on December 19, 1984, in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, India. She was born into a middle-class Marathi family residing in Indore, with no film background. Her father, Shashikant Lokhande, was a banker, and her mother, Vandana Pandis Lokhande, was a teacher. She has two younger siblings, a brother named Sooraj Lokhande and a sister named Jyoti Lokhande. Ankita did her schooling from Indore and graduated from the same city.

Ankita Lokhande started her career as a contestant with the television series “India’s Best Cinestars Ki Khoj.” She then bagged the lead role of Archana Deshmukh in Ekta Kapoor’s daily soap “Pavitra Rishta.” She portrayed Archana opposite Sushant Singh Rajput and Hiten Tejwani from 2009 to 2014. “Pavitra Rishta” took a generation leap in 2013, and Lokhande also began playing Archana’s granddaughter Ankita Karmarkar, opposite Karan Veer Mehra, until the series ended in 2014.
