Born on the 23rd of March, 1966, Salma Ibrahim Anas is a Nigerian Public Health Specialist and politician. She is the Special Adviser on Health to the president of Nigeria.
Prior to this, she has also been the Borno State commissioner for health between 2011 and 2015.
Salma was born to the late Ibrahim Anas, a retired police officer and politician from Silumthla ward of Biu Local Government Area. He served as chairman of Biu LGA and became the deputy governor of Borno State from 1979 to 1983.
Young Salma was raised in Maiduguri, had her primary education at Shehu Garbai Primary School in 1978 and acquired her O’ level certificate from Government Girl’s College Maidugri.
She received a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) at the University of Maiduguri in 1978.
Dr. Salma Ibrahim Anas is married to Hashim Muhammad Kolo, who retired from the Nigerian Air Force and they have five children.
