Dozy Mmobuosi was born on the 7th of April, 1979. He pursued his higher education at Ambrose Alli University in Ekpoma, Edo State, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in political science. Continuing his academic journey, he attained a Master of Science degree in economics from the same institution. However, his claim of having obtained a doctorate in rural advancement from Universiti Putra Malaysia in 2007 faced scrutiny in June 2023, as Hindenburg Research, a short-selling activist group, was unable to verify this in their report.

In March 2022, Mmobuosi successfully completed the Advanced Management and Leadership Programme at Saïd Business School, University of Oxford, demonstrating his commitment to further enhancing his skills and knowledge in the field.
